i saw this and thought of Ian and Alex. i hope you guys like it. i think it’s hilarious.
i hate the Golden Globes. hated it more this year because everyone looked awful. when Jodie Foster is the best looking actress in the place, then there is a problem. Salma Hayak, Emma Stone, Nicole Richie, Tilda Swinton, Claire Danes, Berenice Bejo, Laura Dern, Heidi Klum looked decent. everyone else was beyond boring. i think Mila Kunis wears the same dress over and over except she has it in every color. i know it’s ‘Dior’ but i swear i’ve seen that dress in purple, green and pink from various other designers. Angela Jolie was channeling the Evil Queen. can we stop doing bump-its hair please? can we stop trying to revive Zac Posen’s career. his newest collections are terrible. white women need to stop wearing nude without a tan. awful, awful hair. there was not one stand out man in that place. i’m not even posting pics because you can see it everywhere tomorrow.
it’s so scary because i can’t tell if this is on purpose or not. definitely worse than the “Friday’ song. not only is this blatantly sexual and i don’t mind blatantly sexual but the metaphor for drug trafficking is really just over the top. i can’t even get started on the outfits. i don’t even know why there are so many black people in this video. i mean black people definitely have a very low tolerance for wack ass shit. this girl is the dorkiest white girl ever… she reminds me of Lea Michelle from GLEE.
usually these pre-seasons are just to create excitement and try to make some money in between the main collections but i found some gems. Derek Lam. Alexander Wang. Chloe. Jason Wu. Stella McCartney. LV. see everything on Vogue.com
alright here it is… i know you have been wondering how i haven’t seen this yet. this is my kind of movie. violent, dark, sadistic foreign film with a weird female lead. duh. i have now seen both the Swedish and American versions. don’t kill me but i’m going to say that i like the American one much better. the Swedish original was very good but i enjoyed the high production value of the newer one. Rooney Mara is just the sexiest pale, anorexic, flat-chested androgynous alien ever. the scenery, the pace, the story is all better in the US version. i can’t get it out of my head. i want to be Lisbeth Salander. okay no i don’t because she’s really fucked up but i want to be Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander. the clothes are so good. the styling is so good. all the cigarette smoking in the movie nearly killed me. i just wanted to grab my laptop, hop on my bike and smoke a million ciggies with Daniel Craig clinging onto me. good thing i have bought two badass leather jackets this season.
i need something from Carven like nooowowowooow. seriously, i can only buy it if it’s on the Barney’s 60% off sale or if someone quite generous wanted to gift me with it. i really, really fell in love when i tried on a coat at Riccardi in Boston. this coat had everything. tweed, shoulders, leather, hood, fur, belt, double-breasted with pleated skirt… it was actually pretty reasonable at $1495 or was that the sale price? remember, stop eating. money not for food. only for stuffs.
saw this on because i’m addicted i want every pair of Acne shoes. the clothes are always alright, but i think they make excellent shoes. when i say ‘excellent’ i mean shoes for me. shoes that i would love. some people (Ian) would probably hate them even though he did work for them and never let me take advantage of any discount or clothing allowance… ahem.
in 2012 i would like to see the following ‘concerts’ even if they aren’t touring.
- Florence+the Machine
- Generationals
- Radiohead
- Bon Iver
- Beyonce (my guess not happening this year)
- Band of Horses
- Coldplay
did i ever mention that i went to see Morrissey in November?? sure did. he was everything i had hoped for. it was at SMU and quite intimate. i was 5 rows back. he didn’t really do any Smiths stuff but the man is a legend. he sounded amazing. he took his shirt off. i was entranced from beginning to end. the only bummer is that i had forgotten my wallet and didn’t get any merchandise. i really wanted to get Ian a tshirt. how perfect.
i’m going to see The Kills on Jan. 23 here in Dallas… tickets still available me thinks.
here are some images from Jak&Jil. for awhile, he was busy and wasn’t posting that much so i hadn’t looked through for like a couple of months. love the Grace Coddington WTF face, LOVE the white hair, i decided recently that i love hoodies with coats on girls, love Karlie Kloss, LOVE fur sleeves, i still want that damn Burberry leather shearling, double platform Louboutins are the bomb and Challie would kill for those rings. i want my fingers to look like The Knights of The Round Table too!
one of my new favorite things to look at is Cushnie et Ochs. i say ‘things’ because i can’t afford it and it won’t look remotely cute on me. but i like to look. here is the Cushnie et Ochs lookbook. here is Carly Cushnie on The Coveteur and Michelle Ochs on her own Coveteur profile. i love all the black that they do. the soft/tough. the girly sexy. the tight leather dresses with ruffled full skirts. while checking out The Coveteur, you should be looking at this ‘Rare Chanel‘ thingy
i had a little NYE party game that i thought up. we went around the room and each person wrote down a New Years resolution. it had be be somewhat realistic not a fantasy or something like ‘be nicer to people’ kind of deals. we threw them in a hat and whatever you picked, you HAD to commit to doing. thankfully ‘going to the gym’ was not suggested nor did i receive it. someone got “travel more” which is always vague and ironic because the person who drew it had just committed to not traveling and staying put and trying to invest in their community. someone else got ‘go to the dentist 2X this year’ which again was ironic because they had all their dental work done in Costa Rica last summer for cheap to avoid costly American dental bills. i drew ‘spend the entire year exploring another religion’ which again is so ironic because i do not subscribe to any religion and in fact would be against every thing that i believe. i think people can believe in whatever they want and i’m pretty non-judgmental about it. i totally respect their decision and belief system. i personally do not support any religious institutions, school of thought, teachings or even the act of prayer or worship or meditation. so this will be interesting…
my real resolutions:
- lose the 10 pounds i gained since the Spring
- call my mother every 2 weeks
- find a more creative job
- stop pulling out gray hairs and start being proactive about wrinkles
- investing time into finding a single, straight guy in his 30′s with a job who really likes me
